John Curtin Weekend 2009

Curtin has this cool cross culture program called the John Curtin Weekend. We had the chance to stay over and experience Sarawak Long Houses Native culture . It was extremely fun experience for me because everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The Long House we went was Rumah Johnson, a pretty modern one. The long house was concreted, had electricity supply, clean water supply and bathroom DOORS~phew.. hehe.. So it was not much problem of adapting to the environment compared to some other long houses my friends were placed, which are more rural. Jun was the Leader for this long house. Was I the photographer or the assistant? I couldn't remember. haha.

Curtianians Decorating the Long House. This trip, our group went 1 day earlier because there were a bunch of International yachties coming to pay a visit the next day. Due to communication barriers, we went there to help them entertain and basically translate for them. Yatchies from around the world, Europe, New Zealand, Australia...

It was fun to have lots of little friends. Cool little Brooklyn. Gosh, miss them. Fell like going back and visit them one day.
Oh yeah! not forgetting the famous Poco-Poco. Oh my gosh, this is a must must in the long house. It's a dance they do everytime, like everytime! haha.. We had it the day we arrive, when the yatchies come, after dinner, and morning exercise as shown above. haha..

Father Stan Fortuna Set Free Rally

Father Stan Fortuna is a priest from New York, also known as the rapping priest. He was invited for a 2 days rally. We had interesting talks and sharing. At the end of the rally, we had a concert too. so, Thumbs up~ =)

Bintulu Site Visit to ABF and B-Port

Boon, Jun, Zhi Zhong, Amin and I went on a Site Visit to Bintulu organized by CUTEC. We visited ASEAN Bintulu Fertilizer Sdn.Bhd and Bintulu Port. It was a 2 days 1 night trip.

That night after dinner, we got to meet up with my dad. We went to BlueBerry for a drink. Good time catching with dad and introducing my friends to dad too. =)

The next day, we went to Similajau Beach for picnic. And we met this Jerman lady. We were curious why she was here, in Bintulu. in Similajau. Then, She shared with us her adventure and trip.

1st Brunei Trip with Friends

My first Brunei Trip with friends. I've been there couple of times, but it was with my family. Well, seems like majority of Curtin Students usually go Brunei for Sushi, so do we. However, this time we drove all the way to Bandar, the main city. Thanks to Steve for his generosity to drive us too. Because he pops in Brunei very often, so he knows the place well.

We went all the way to Bandar, Brunei to try the newly open Excapade. The place is quite nice.

Yup~~ That's what we had. Thanks to Steve. He is really good in making orders.

After the full Fishy lunch, we went off to The Empire Hotel and Country Club to have a look.

There you go~ A picture of it. Empire Hotel is a 6 stars Hotel. Luxury and Huge. The scenery is good. It's by the beach. By the way, Empire Hotel has its own Cinema and there are people who drives all the way here to watch movie. According to Sis, they even provide blanket for you. How cool is that? I wonder if they provide pillow and tip bits too.

Next stop, shopping and Ice Cream. The Blizzard ice-cream that people kept talking about. They will pass you the ice-cream up-side-down and if it drops, they will make you another one. Erm, to me, its just like any other McFlurry. haha xP But the choices are better though. Kit Kat Blizzard is nice. =)

It was a good trip especially with friends. So now I can say I went to "Foreign" Country with my friends. haha.. Basically, if you have any plans to visit Brunei, that is basically already 80% covered of what you can do there. haha Have fun!

Curtin Race

Let me see, this is Curtin Race 2009 I think. xD it was first time organized in our campus. 1 car was allowed for 4 person. It was organized by the CV's, University Life and Frisbee Club. It was a one morning event, fun and tiring. xD Though we didn't won, but I'm proud to say we were the first to arrive. haha. Too bad Jun was not allow to participate because she was a CV committee. Nevermind Jun, we helped you to play on behalf. Besides, you are already part of the team. ;)
